About the Artist

Mothy Rajesh

Mothy Rajesh is a self-taught abstract painter and journalist from Mayyanad, Kollam District, Kerala, India. Her work delves into the profound and poetic relationship between man and nature, capturing the unseen energies that flow between human experience and the natural world. Through abstraction, she transforms emotion, memory, and landscape into layered visual expressions that invite contemplation and connection.

Mothy’s paintings are marked by fluid compositions, subtle textures, and a rhythmic interplay of color and form. They evoke a sense of harmony — sometimes fragile, sometimes intense — that reflects both the beauty and the tension of our coexistence with nature.

Artistic Journey

A journalist by profession, Mothy brings a storyteller’s depth and sensitivity into her art. Her creative journey began as an inner exploration — a way to articulate what words could not fully express. Over the years, she has developed a distinct visual language rooted in intuition and emotion, balancing spontaneity with thoughtful composition.

She has participated in several solo and group exhibitions and has been a part of numerous art camps across India. Her artistic contributions have been recognized through art fellowships and scholarships, affirming her growing presence in the contemporary art landscape.

Artist Statement

“For me, painting is a dialogue — a conversation between the human spirit and the elements of nature. Every canvas is an attempt to listen, to feel, and to translate that silent exchange into color and movement. My abstractions are reflections of that connection — fluid, organic, and deeply personal.”
